The 2017 Acura RDX is a luxury compact SUV that ranks in the middle of its class. It comes with a powerful V6 engine that makes 279 horsepower and has seating for 5 people. The RDX is available as either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The fuel economy is typical of a V6 engine. Estimates are close to 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel drive version will have a slightly lower fuel economy for both city and highway driving.
Many rivals in this class will use a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The V6 has a little bit more grunt and it gives the RDX quick acceleration. The ride is comfortable and smooth with the cabin having fairly good sound insulation. It isn’t as sporty as some other competitors but generally performs well in city driving conditions.
The Acura RDX is an SUV that seats up to 5 people. The seats are comfortable enough for long drives and there’s plenty of space for all passengers. If you need extra space you’ll have to check out the 2017 Acura MDX that comes with a third row of seating.

The RDX comes with dual screens that can be confusing to some people. One of them is a display screen for navigation and the other a touch-screen for the infotainment controls. There’s plenty of room in the RDX with 26.1 cu.ft. of space in the cargo area and over 60 cu.ft. of space when the rear seats are folded flat.
The 2017 Acura RDX has a staring price of $35,670 which is quite low for the class. If you want to upgrade to AWD it will cost you an extra $1,500. The 3.5-liter V6 will come as standard for all trims and is the only engine available on this SUV.
There are a few packages you can add to the RDX such as the Technology Package for $3,700 which adds navigation, leather sports seating, 10-speaker audio system, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. Other packages include the Advance Package for $6,650 and the AcuraWatch Plus Package for $1,300.
The 2017 Acura RDX performs pretty well in its class and is cheaper than many of its competitors. A few alternative options to consider are the 2016 Porsche Macan, the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace or the 2017 BMW X3.
