The 2017 Audi A6 is a mid-sized luxury car and year after year rates as one of the finest luxury cars on the market. There are three engines to choose from and four trim levels. The A6 is available as either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The A6 is noted for its powerful engine lineup. It also has excellent fuel economy with the base engine getting 24/34 mpg for city/hwy driving. The A6 has enough room to seat 5 people and has an elegantly designed cabin with quality materials.

The Audi A6 has had some changes for the 2017 model year. There’s a new Competition trim which is the top trim for this car. Some new tech features now come as standard such as the rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors.

Performance

The 2017 Audi A6 has sporty driving dynamics and two powerful engines. The base engine is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 252 horsepower. This turbocharged engine provides plenty of power and acceleration. The A6 feels sporty behind the wheel and although you’re driving a mid-sized car it feels like a small performance car.

The second engine, available as standard on the higher trims is the supercharged 3.0 liter V6 which delivers 333-340 horsepower, depending on the trim you choose. If that’s still not enough power for you you can opt for the S6 which comes with a turbocharged 4.0 liter V8 engine that makes 450 horsepower.

As for fuel economy the base 4-cylinder engine gets 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The V6 is able to get 21/29 mpg for city/hwy and the big V8 on the S6 gets 18/27 mpg for city/hwy. The higher trim levels come with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Interior

The Audi A6 has one of the finest cabin interiors of its class. The interior looks handsome and materials are divine. It’s the little things that matter and Audi haven’t cut corners to make a profit. You’ll notice the eye-for-detail in such things as the dash controls, accents and trim pieces. Leather upholstery and heated front seats come as standard.

The Audi A6 has seating for up to 5 people and the seats have a generous amount of room with lots of support. The rear seats have plenty of headroom and legroom even for taller adults. The infotainment system on the Audi A6 is the Audi MMI infotainment system wich is widely regarded as one of the best systems currently available.

Price

The Audi A6 comes in four different models, the Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige and the Competition. The 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine comes as standard for the base model. The Premium has a starting price of $47,600. The supercharged V6 and all-wheel drive come as standard on the Prestige and Competition models. The Prestige has a starting price of $61,600 and the Competition starts out at $67,600.
