The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace features an all new 2017 model that is said to have sports-car-like performance with excellent traction and power control even on slippery roads. It has a spacious interior that seats 5 people and comes with all-wheel drive as standard.

There are two engines to choose from, the four-cylinder and the upgraded 340 hp V6 which gives a significant boost to acceleration and top speed. According to Jaguar the F-Pace was designed to be practical enough to use every day and yet also be a performance vehicle that you can take out for a drive on the weekends. It seems Jaguar has succeeded in both regards as many reviewers regard the F-Pace as an elegant sports vehicle and SUV.

Specs

The 2017 Jaguar F-Pace comes with either the four-cylinder diesel 180 hp engine or the V6 340 hp engine. Both with all-wheel drive for extra traction on slippery or gravely roads. The four-cylinder diesel has a top speed of 129 mph and reaches 0-60 in 8.2 seconds. The V6 on the other hand has a top speed of 155 mph and can reach 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. Both come with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Jaguar have put a lot of thought into the performance of the Jaguar so that it stands out for its agility and power. Motor Trend has this to say about the offroad capability of the F-Pace.

“A lot of the capability comes from electronics, of course, including the Adaptive Surface Response system, which automatically adapts the maps of the throttle, transmission and stability control system to maximize traction under a variety of conditions.”

The higher powered V6 engine has an estimated fuel economy of 18 mpg for city driving and 23 mpg on the highway for a combined estimate of 20 mpg. The tank capacity is 16.6 gallons for a range of just over 330 miles. The diesel engine does not yet have an EPA rating for gas mileage.

Interior

The interior of the 2017 F-Pace looks good and has plenty of space. It has more cargo space than most of its rivals with 33.5 cu. ft. of cargo space in the rear. The rear seats fold forward in a 40:20:40 configuration, giving you lots of options for storage.

The cloth upholstery comes as standard, as do the 8-way power seats which can be upgraded to heated/cooled seats. Leather seats come as an optional extra. The front controls feature an 8-inch touch display, bluetooth, HD radio, push-button start and an 11-speaker sound system. the F-Pace also comes with rain-sensing windshield wipers and dual zone climate control that can be upgraded to four zones.

One upgrade you may seriously consider is the InControl Touch Pro 10.2 inch widescreen with user-friendly swipe and drag controls just like a smartphone. It comes equipped with a quad core processor and a 60 GB solid-state drive.

Price

The base price for the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is $40,990 for the four-cylinder engine. Upgrading to the V6 340 hp engine will bump the price to $42,390.

Alternatives

While the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace is considered one of the finest luxury SUVs on the market there are a few other SUVs that rank right up there with it. The 2016 Porsche Macan has an extremely powerful engine and sports handling although it is a little more expensive than the F-Pace. The 2016 Lexus NX has a luxurious interior and good handling but less power than the F-Pace.
