2017 Jaguar F-Type
The 2017 Jaguar F-Type has had very few changes from the last model year and still features a high quality interior cabin with a choice of powerful engines.
The F-Type is a luxury sports car with seating for two people. It comes as either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The base price for the F-Type is $61,400 but you’ll pay over double this price for the top end trim. The F-Type has a lower starting price than many other luxury sports cars but is also underpowered with its base engine.
The 2017 Jaguar F-Type comes with a few engine choices and all of them sound amazing but they do differ in performance. The base engine is the 3.0-liter V6 engine that makes 340 horsepower. It has an acceleration of 5.5 seconds from 0-60 mph.
The upgraded engine on the F-Type R is the 5.0 liter V8 that makes 550 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. The top engine is the F-Type SVR which has 575 horsepower and an acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
While the V6 engine is a powerful engine and provides more kick than most people will ever need the V8 engine is extremely powerful and provides a much more thrilling ride.
“Our ride was the F-Type R Coupe. You’d be hard-pressed to find a faster, better-looking or more comfortable beast in which to fly.” – Autoweek.
Rear-wheel drive comes as standard with the option of upgrading to all-wheel drive. The F-Type is agile on the road although a little stiff so you will feel the bumps and dips in the road.
The V6 engine gets 16/24 mpg for city/hwy driving. This is below average for the class. The V8 has slightly worse fuel economy with 15 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
The Jaguar F-Type has seating for two people and includes suede and leather upholstery. The sports seats are power-adjustable and can be upgraded to heated front seats. The interior of the cabin is of high quality and the stitching adds a nice flare to the overall design.
One let down is the small amount of cargo space. 11 cu.ft. in total. Even this is hard to use as the trunk has a narrow opening. If you buy the convertible version of the F-Type than you’ll have even less space, just 7 cu.ft.
The F-Type features an 8-inch touch screen with navigation and a 5-inch instrument display screen. It also comes with satellite radio, a USB port, a 12-speaker sound system and smartphone integration.
The 2017 Jaguar F-Type has a starting price of $61,400 which is lower than most other luxury sports cars. It also comes with a long list of standard features including navigation and an 8-inch touch screen. The top trim is over twice the price of the base trim and starts at $128,800.
Some other luxury sports cars that you may want to consider within the same price range are the 2017 Porsche Boxster, the 2017 Porsche Cayman or the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette. Going up to a higher price bracket and with a starting price of almost $90,000 is the 2017 Porsche 911 which is one of the best luxury sports cars on the market.
