2017-jaguar-xe-reviewThe 2017 Jaguar XE is a luxury compact sports car built with the quality that only Jaguar can deliver. The XE has a starting price of $34,900 and is available in 4 different XE models. We’ll take a look at them in more detail below but the base comes with a gas or diesel engine.

The XE has taken some of its inspiration from the F-Type and the exterior features long flowing aerodynamic lines. The underbody of the car is also inspired by race cars to reduce drag and improve performance. The frame is made from lightweight aluminum and it features distinctive tail lights, chrome side vents and a sculpted hood to minimize air resistance.

The Jaguar XE comes with Jaguar EliteCare which provides 24-hour roadside assistance and coverage for 5 years or 60,000 miles. The XE uses InControl Touch for its infotainment system that includes such features as SOS Emergency Call, phone connectivity, navigation and audio controls.

Specs

The 2017 Jaguar XE comes with a choice of 3 engines. The standard engine is the turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes 180 horsepower. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Made from aluminum the the turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder gas engine is also a good alternative. Like the diesel this engine also uses the 8-speed automatic transmission.

If you’re looking for a little more power you can upgrade to the supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine that makes a whopping 340 horsepower. This engine is the same as used in the F-Type models so will deliver plenty of power. It also uses an 8-speed transmission.

The standard diesel engine will get you 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Upgrading to the V6 engine will reduce that fuel economy slightly. The V6 engine has a top speed of 120 mph and can reach 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds.
