2017 Nissan 370Z
The 2017 Nissan 370Z is a sports car with good handling and nice design. It’s available as either a Coupe or a Roadster and both use the 3.7 liter 6-cylinder engine that makes 332 horsepower.
The Nissan 370Z has a higher base price than other sports cars and often lacks the same basic features. If you’re looking for a sports car you may be better of with the Mx-5 Miata or Chevrolet Camaro which have a lower base price and more options. If you’re set on the 370Z you’ll be impressed with its nimble handling and powerful V6 engine.
For the 2017 model of the Nissan 370Z there have been no major changes. Reviewers have commented on the smooth ride in the driver’s seat and the agile handling. On the down side the 370Z has very little cargo room and a lower fuel economy than other sports cars.
The Nissan 370Z uses a 3.7 liter V6 engine that is able to deliver 332 horsepower. It’s pretty powerful for a base model although there is no bigger V8 option for the 370Z like other sports cars such as the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang.
A 6-speed manual comes as standard and a 7-speed automatic is an optional upgrade. The V6 engine is able to produce 276 lb.ft of torque. The 370Z has a fuel economy of 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
The 370Z has good acceleration and uses a quick-shifting system called the SynchroRev Match feature that smooths the transitions when shifting up and down gears.
The 2017 370Z is easy to drive around corners and the car stays flat on the road. It’s an invigorating ride that remains comfortable for the driver at high speeds. With its small size and light weight it’s able to hug the curb around corners and has a high level of steering precision.
Reviews are mixed regarding the interior of the Nissan 370Z. Some say the seating is comfortable and are impressed with the sound-deadening technology. Others complain that the 370Z has had few changes since the model was introduced back in 2009.
The 370Z has seating for 2 people with cloth upholstery as standard. Higher trims have leather seats which are heated and power adjustable. A 4-speaker audio system, USB port, automatic climate control and push-button start are available as standard in the Coupe.
The 370Z Roadster is a convertible with a power-folding soft top. Features include a rearview camera, satellite radio, 8-speaker Bose sound system and 7-inch touch screen with navigation system.
The 370Z Coupe has a starting price of $29,990 and comes with cloth seating, 4-speaker audio system, USB port and Bluetooth. The Roadster, which has similar features, has a starting price of $41,820.
Unfortunately for Nissan the 370Z is ranked fairly low on the list of best sports cars. There are four other sports cars that I recommend and all of them have a lower starting base price. Top of the list is the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Then comes the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, the 2017 Ford Mustang and the 2016 Dodge Challenger. All of them are good alternatives to the Nissan 370Z.
