2017-nissan-armada-reviewThe 2017 Nissan Armada is a large SUV with a starting price of $44,900 and a fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The Armada is available in 3 models, the SV, the SL and the Platinum. All models use the same 5.6 liter V8 engine that makes 390 horsepower.

The Nissan Armada, which was absent from the lineup last year, as been reintroduced for the 2017 model year and we’re glad it has. The Armada ranks as one of the finest large SUVs on the market with a large interior cabin and powerful engine. The Armada seats up to 8 people and has either a rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive drivetrain.

The interior of the cabin is quiet and the materials used appear to be of high quality. Cabin space isn’t the best in the class and the first and third row seats aren’t as comfortable as they could be. Taking all things into consideration the 2017 Armada is viewed as one of the best large SUVs on the market.

Specs

The Armada comes with a powerful 5.6 liter V8 engine that makes 390 horsepower. That’s enough power to tow up to 8,500 lbs which is more than most SUVs. The Armada has quick acceleration and uses a 17-speed automatic transmission.

The Nissan Armada has an estimated fuel economy of 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. It has a good sound to it although the transmission can occasionally have difficulty finding the right gear which can slow things down a bit.

The Armada comes as rear-wheel drive with an optional upgrade to a four-wheel drive.

“Though we didn’t tow during our time with the Armada, we did do some mild off-roading, and the truck is as capable as you’d expect even with one wheel off the ground. The Rubicon Trail may not be in its future, but we can safely say a 4WD-equipped Armada can power through anything an American buyer is likely to throw at it.” Autoweek.

Interior

The interior of the cabin looks stylish and uses quality materials. The front seats are satisfactory but aren’t as large and comfortable as some other large SUVs. The second row of seating is very comfortable and are upgradeable to captain’s chairs. The third row of seating is a little cramped but standard for a third row.
