2017-nissan-gt-r-reviewThe 2017 Nissan GT-R is a luxury sports car that’s had a few updates both internally and externally for the 2017 model year. The GT-R has a starting price of $109,990 and the base model comes with a 3.8 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine that makes 565 horsepower.

There are two models to choose from, the GT-R Premium and the GT-R Nismo. The Nismo will cost an extra $65,000 and comes with a 600 horsepower engine. The GT-R has an aerodynamic body design and a titanium exhaust. The 2017 model has new side sills which improve air flow and performance. The hood has also been redesigned to provide greater stability when driving at high speeds.

The interior of the Nissan GT-R has been updated for this model year with a more attractive design and a new dashboard. The shift paddles have been moved to the steering wheel which allows you to change gears without taking your hands off the wheel. The infotainment system has also been upgraded with bigger icons and a bigger 8-inch touch screen.

Specs

The 2017 Nissan GT-R has been slightly improved from last year with an additional 20 horsepower on the base model, the GT-R Premium. This model uses a 3.8 liter twin turbocharged V6 engine with 565 horsepower and 467 lb.ft. of torque. It can reach speeds of 196 mph and has acceleration of 0-60 in just 2.9 seconds.

The top model, the Nismo uses the same engine but is able to generate 600 horsepower. Both engines have the same fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. This is rather average for the luxury sports class.

All-wheel drive comes as standard and Nissan have used an All-Wheel Drive system to provide almost all of the torque to the rear wheels while allowing for up to 50% of the power to be distributed to the front wheels when needed. The makes the car responsive and gives you extra stability and traction. The GT-R uses a dual-clutch 6-speed manual transmission for both models.
