2017 Nissan Juke
The 2017 Nissan Juke is a subcompact SUV with a starting price of $20,250. It has fairly good fuel economy with 28/33 mpg in the city/higway. It’s available in four trims with two engine choices, a 188 horsepower engine and a 215 horsepower engine on the the top model.
The Nissan Juke has sporty handling and a funky design. It has excellent fuel economy and is available as either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Juke has seating for up to 5 people although the rear seats are quite cramped for larger adults. The interior of the Juke is lacking and Nissan have opted for cheaper materials so it lacks that upscale look that you’ll find on the Murano. The Juke also has a lower safety rating than other compact SUVs on the market.
All but the base model of the Juke come with a power moonroof and heated front seats. The Juke has a new exterior design for the 2017 model and you can see in the pictures below how it looks. Some of the designs are quite striking although not everyone would want to be seen in one. The frame is a mix of carbon-fiber and aluminum, making it quite light and agile on the road.
The 2017 Nissan Juke comes with a 1.6 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 188 horsepower. It has excellent fuel economy for its class with 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the higway. The Juke is available as either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and both use a CVT (continuously variable transmission).
The Nissan Juke uses electric power steering that automatically adjust the power to the steering based on speed. It has a raised ground clearance so you can easily make it over potholes, steep driveways or other obstacles on the road. The Juke also comes with Vehicle Dynamic Control that is able to sense your steering and braking and adjust the brakes to certain wheels or slows the acceleration to prevent you understeering or oversteering.
The Juke NISMO RS comes with a 16-valve turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 215 horsepower. It comes in either front-wheel drive with 6-speed manual or all-wheel drive with CVT. This model also features a tuned exhaust, sports brakes and tuned suspension for a lower ride.
The base model of the Nissan Juke has some high tech features but some reviewers have mentioned the low cost materials used in the cabin. While the Juke does lack some interior sophistication it does come with a 5-inch color display for its audio system, Bluetooth, hands-free text messaging, rearview monitor, power windows and push button start for the base trim.
Some optional features if you buy the higher trims are larger touch-screen with navigation, Around View monitor, leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel.
The Nissan Juke for the 2017 model year has a starting price of $20,250 for the Juke S. The Juke SV comes with a power moonroof and has a starting price of $22,550. The Juke SL has leather seats and Around View monitor. It has a base MSRP of $25,240. The top trim, the 2017 Juke NISMO RS has the turbocharged engine with 215 horsepower and has a starting price of $28,020.
The 2017 Nissan Murano is quite striking but generally doesn’t stack up well against its competitors. Some other options for a subcompact SUV are the 2017 Mazda CX-3, the 2017 Buick Encore and the 2017 Honda HR-V.
