The Sentra comes in 5 trims which use either the 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 124 horsepower or the 1.6 liter turbocharged engine that makes 188 horsepower.

The 2017 Nissan Sentra is virtually unchanged from the previous year although there have been some small changes to this years model including increased storage space in the front center console and thicker front and rear windows in order to make the cabin quieter. An SR Turbo trim has also been added with the turbocharged engine and the FE+S trim has been removed from the lineup.

The Sentra is a compact car that has a low starting price and fairly good fuel economy. The turbocharged engine has been introduced into the higher trims to make the Sentra more competitive with the more powerful cars in this class.

The Sentra comes with three drive modes including Eco to save fuel, Normal mode and Sport mode for maximum responsiveness and performance. The Sentra comes with fog lights, dual power heated outside mirrors and a rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light.

The two highest trims come with a 1.6 liter direct injection gasoline turbocharged engine which makes 188 horsepower. It’s available in either CVT (continuously variable transmission) or a 6-speed manual transmission. It also comes with a tilting and sliding power moonroof with sunshade.

The interior of the Sentra is well-constructed but doesn’t stand out among other rivals in its class. It does have a large trunk space of 15.1 cu. ft. and all models feature fold-down passenger seats in a 60/40 split. All models also have remote keyless entry and bluetooth. Higher trims come with a 5-inch center screen with voice command and the NissanConnect infotainment system. The higher trims also feature sport cloth seats and heated front seats.




The base price for the 2017 Nissan Sentra is $18,790 for the Sentra SV. This model uses the 1.8 liter 4-cylinder engine with 130 hp. The power sliding glass moonroof is available on the Sentra SR Turbo with the more powerful 180 hp engine and has a starting price of $21,990.
